Frasier's agent cons him into endorsing a product he doesn't support, which makes Frasier feel that he is losing his credibility as a medical professional. This episode marks the first appearance of Harriet Sansom Harris as Bebe Glazer. Bebe becomes a popular recurring character on the show.

- Roger (a caller to Frasier's radio show) complains about an argument he had with his wife over what they will name their cabin cruiser. Frasier responds to Roger's "problem" by saying that not even the tunneling electron microscope at Cornell University could help him locate an interest in his story.
- While plugging a local Chinese restaurant on his radio show, Frasier says "So if you've got a yen for Chinese tonight, hurry on down to the Hunan Palace." The yen is the official currency of Japan, not China, as pointed out by Roz.
- Bebe tells Fraiser that she is flying to Palo Alto, California to meet her daughter who is a student at Stanford University. Then, to convince Frasier that he needs financial security for his son Frederick, she says that BusinessWeek predicts that college costs in the year 2010 will be incredibly high.
- While Bebe is being introduced to Daphne, Frasier metaphorically compares her (Daphne) to an artichoke, saying "You just peel away one astounding leaf after another."
- Frasier tells Bebe that the nuts she wants him to endorse are bad for his diverticulitis.
- Frasier calls Niles a "purist" for objecting to his endorsements.
- At the end of the episode Frasier and Martin argue about which celebrity sat under Dr. Joyce Brothers on Hollywood Squares. During their argument they mention Charlie Weaver, George Gobel, Paul Lynde, Wally Cox and Rose Marie.
